Social Networks: Love or Hate?

It is CRAZY how so many people life through social networks these days. Forget about texts, calls or dinners with friends, just talk on your social network! Lol now I’d rather text, call or go out with friends to keep in contact but I think I only do that occasionally with about 2 people these days. Everyone has a preference though. In addition to that, the “news feed” or “tweets” I read are sometimes ridiculous to read. We ALL have issues but not everyone on your social network needs to know! So here are my little random “do’s and dont’s” for your site. Given everyone has a different opinion which is AWESOME, but this is just MY opinion & what I feel would make these social networks a more positive environment!

DO POST:
-Good events in your life! Birthdays, promotions, anything positive you’ve experienced that day etc.
- Pictures/videos that show the real you without being graphic or derogatory. Beach photos, gradutation videos or even random outing with friends are pretty cool in my opinion.
-Questions or ideas to generate positive energy/thoughts/conversation! Like how I post my questions/statements of the day! Sometimes we have a random thought or question and posting these gets others involved and “juices” flowing in a sense, sometimes they also lead to making new connections!
- Music or things that you found/discovered that others might not have seen or know about! Sharing is caring and I know I love quotes/videos that others post that I haven’t seen/heard yet.

DO NOT POST:
- Posts including labeling words such as bitches and hoes, liar, curse word this and that etc. YES we all have friend/men/women issues BUT seeing 9 out of 10 negative posts including curse words and labels is TIRING AND OLD!
- Naked or suggestive content with minimal clothes. Anyone can be naked on a bathroom sink or posing in front of a mirror. All that makes me think is “wow, never is that cool” and it makes me smh. Don’t degrade your greatness!
- Threats or posts tagging people in them where you’re negatively addressing them. An ugly character makes me run and delete ya! Not attractive :-]
- Anything with HATE in it! This world has enough problems and if some people only know you from these sites, always being hurtful or pessimistic is an ugly trait, so please refrain. “Where is the love”

So in conclusion, I think its all common sense really! I’ve been guilty of posting negative things due to my “bad day” but there’s always something bigger than our petty issues. I’m so tired of reading posts with a negative undertone to them so let’s try to make online a better place :-] xo
